Willamette Valley regional dates

  • FREE online registration opens 9/15/2010
  • Sunday Dec. 12, 2010 11:59pm PST: Digital Submissions due (online)
  • Friday, Dec. 17, 2010: Regional Art Awards announced
  • Sun. & Mon., Jan. 9 & 10, 2011: Art drop off of selected entries at museum in Philomath, OR
  • Fri. Jan. 14 - Sat. Feb. 5, 2011: Public exhibition of selected art
  • Saturday Jan. 22, 2011, 2:00pm: Award Ceremony at Benton County Museum
  • Monday Feb. 7, 2011: Pick up artwork from Museum

National Competition Dates

  • February 18 - 25, 2011: National Art Adjudication
  • March 8, 2011: National Art Awards announced
 

Eligibility:

Participation in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is open to students:

  • in grades 7-12 for the 2010/2011 school year;
  • enrolled in public, private and parochial, and home schools or participating in
    community based organizations;
  • in the United States, U.S. territories, Canada and U.S. sponsored schools abroad;
  • Note: Artwork created in the spring semester of 2010 is eligible for submission. Students
    should submit in their current grade level. Seniors who graduated in June 2010 are not
    eligible to participate. Seniors who will graduate mid-term in December, 2010 may
    participate.

Size Limitations for all Artwork:
+ Two-dimensional artwork should not exceed 48 inches in any direction and, in general, the largest 2-D work that is eligible is 36" x 48".
+ Three-dimensional artwork should not exceed 18" x 18" x 36" in dimensions and should not exceed 30 pounds in weight. Individual works that exceed the size limitations may be disqualified.
+ Artwork submitted in Art Portfolio and Photography Portfolio categories may exceed these limits as determined by your Regional Affiliate.
