Featured specimen: Beaver, Raccoon, Porcupine
Mounted beaver Castor Canadensis

This large male beaver was trapped in the Avery Park area in Corvallis, Oregon, where he had been a nuisance on residential cherry trees. He was mounted by Gerald Welch.

After many years on the OSU campus this busy beaver has moved to Philomath with the rest of the Horner Museum collection.

Mounted raccoon (class Mammalia, order Carnivora, family Procyonidae, genus Procyon, species lotor); gray and black specimen is sitting on his haunches, head erect, paws on piece of swirled driftwood. Foam base decorated with leaves and twigs and weeds, 39 x 60 cm.

Mounted porcupine Erethizon dorsatum This year round Oregon is resident wherever there are trees. Large fat brown mammal with lots of quills, standing on a log. 85 x 42 x 41 cm.
