The BCHS Library houses a large collection of Benton County and Pacific Northwest specific research materials. Each year hundreds of scholars, genealogists, students, owners of historic homes, land use planners, and the curious find answers to their questions in the Library's non-circulating collection. The Library's PastPerfect™ data base provides access to the Library's extensive collection of documents, photographs, architectural plans, books, newspapers, family genealogies, maps and other Benton County related materials.

There is no fee at present for using the Library. There are fees, however, for services such as photocopying and image reproduction. Mail and e-mail inquiries will be answered if the research required to provide a response is not time-consuming; if you have a complex request, break it down into a number of individual questions. Since volunteers assist in answering research requests and their schedules vary, we are unable to respond instantly. If you wish the staff of the BCHS to do more extensive research, there is a fee of $25.00 per hour.
